Back to America, and City College

After Europe, I went back to school at CCNY and took another Digital Photo course. During this semester I had great roommates, crazy experiences and met my longtime girlfriend, Nikita.

Back in NYC!

The shots above were from my final project for my photo course, which was to create a photo book on a certain topic. Mine, was NYC.

These are a couple from a day out with Nikita, we went to Central Park with our friend Laura then to the Grant Memorial.

 Can't forget about the roomates, chillin, killin it in Oblivion.

 

It was a great semester, there were plenty of photos taken and I developed my skills and began taking more portraits.

Catch up...

I last wrote on here when I was travelling Europe. I had one hell of a time, and didn't spend a lot of time on the computer which is why I fell off.

Here are photos that will summarize my experience....

Cinquale

Like out of a vacation brochure, this was a path leading out of the restaurant where we had lunch, wine was had. Fine wine indeed. Then we played on the beach. 

This was our view while returning from the beach to the hotel - those mountains? Marble....

We drove to the very center of this mountain where they cut out marble for all those fancy countertops...with giant diamond chainsaws.

Florence

Stayed here for 3 weeks, while taking a digitial photo course at Florence University of the Arts. This is the reflection of Frati Minori Conventuali...steps outside my apartment. 

For the most amazing views of Firenze, we would go to the Piazzale Michelangelo, came here for multiple sunsets, and one sunrise.

This was a photo I used for my final project, a couple I met who were taking the same photo course I was. 

Elba Island

Me and 2 friends took a ferry to visit this remarkable island - where Nepoleon Bonaparte was exiled to...lucky bastard.

Smooth sailing!

Views like a postcard...

Loved the nature here....caught a lizard, climbed a rock wall...

France! 

Nice!

I then went to spend 5 days in the beautiful town of Nice, where I unfortunately came down with a cold of some sort....I tried to cure it by laying on the beach in the sun for hours...I was very very sunburnt. Also tanning on ROCK BEACHES is very uncomfortable...but all the stones were smoothed out by the salt in the water. 

The water was so clear because it was not sand, but large rocks at the bottom...also the salt residue would stain your skin.

AH, PARIS!

Only spent 2 days in this magnificent city, it did NOT do the history justice.

My jaw dropped at the sight of the Tour de Eiffel, and what a night it was...

I visited the Catacombs also, truly a journey that will take your breath away...

Earlier that day I got to see Mona Lisa (and many others) at the Louve...

Later that night I went to see Notre Dame...

Paris from a "unique" perspective..

Overall my time in Europe was AMAZING. I can't wait to go back and I hope to go back with company next time, though this experience shaped me in a way that nothing else could. It gave me a more humble point of view, and I got to meet some of the most remarkable people...

This trip truly helped me identify my passion for photographing remarkable places....I can't wait to do more...

Bosco di Bomarzo

From there we went to the Bosco di Bomarzo monster garden, which was really cool, seeing what someone came up with 500 years ago in order to freak people out.

There were some that were very surprising to me which means the artist clearly succeeded in his goal. There were magnificent structures which blew my mind, intrigued me and made me feel like I was a little kid on a cool playground.

Viterbo

Since I was on an organized trip through my program we had several stops on our way from Rome to Florence. I had to keep a journal for an assignment and so this is it.

The next stop on our trip was Viterbo. It was a small enclosed town that gave me the feeling I was back in the Medieval times. It seemed to me that it was the kind of place where everyone knew one another and everyone felt safe. There was some scary looking alleyways that were questionable, but other than that it was quite nice and lovely to walk around in.

After this we went to the Ville Lante in Bagnania and a garden we went to was absolutely gorgeous. The design of the plants and fountains was breath taking and the amount of beauty in the design was beyond amazing. I love to see other people's form of creative expression, especially if the medium is something natural.

Rome!

This was one of the places I have always wanted to go. Especially since I became a photographer it has been the itch on my back that I've been dying to scratch, photographically that is.

There was so much history in Rome and such beautiful architecture, I loved everything I saw, the Colosseum was breath taking, thinking about the amazing things that went on inside it really excites me. The thought of who else walked where I had walked really intrigued me.

I loved the Forum also because it showed how much the buildings and structures had been destroyed and that fascinated me.

Since Rome has been around for so long, and been through so much it sticks out in my mind. The people who eventually conquered almost all of Europe walked around in the same city I did. That's incredible to me.

Lets pick back up in Belgium!
I was staying with my wonderful family and exploring all over.
My brother in law and I went to a town called Genk, and explored an abandoned coal mining factory which was so cool. I pulled every lever I saw. And there were many.






After we climbed a giant hill that was the remains of all the scrap coal, but it had been covered in grass to improve the appearance of the hill

Also while I was in the Hasselt area, we went to a beautiful Japanese garden, it was so peaceful and well made...

After this, I went to stay with more family in Brussels, my sister Ali came with too so we spent the time there together and it was awesome!

We went to the Parc du Cinquantenaire

and saw some amazing views.

Belgium was absolutely amazing and I highly advise anyone who hasn't been there to go. Immediately! NOW!

Belgium - Maastricht

So today Veerle, Bart and I went to a nearby city named Maastricht, it was a nice little town, not too crazy, calm and full of people, markets, and churches!

This one has been converted into a bookstore.

The various pictures are on Facebook. We walked all around the city, got some food, and just hung out. It was a great day. I cant get over the sky here. Probably cause its the sky. HAH! God I'm so clever.
